Treatment to Fade 2nd Degree Burn Mark.
Answered by admin
Question:
I had a 2nd degree burn 3 weeks ago on the chest, arm & on the face near the mouth. It has almost healed with a dark patch. I’m brown skinned & wondering what kind of treatment can hasten the fading of this mark? I’d like to know from someone who has experience with this kind of pigmentation as to how long it’ll take to fade on its own W/O treatment? Can IPL or microdermabrasion work? I spoke to my insurance and they said they’ll they will pay. Do you have any experience with this? Any feedback will be appreciated.
Answer:
A moderately atypical nevus is not a melanoma. However, some feel that such nevi can become melanoma and therefore should be removed. Your mole looks like it has been excised – so you should be fine. Discuss this with your dermatologist.
