What is the difference between chloasma and melasma?
Answered by admin
Question:
Can you explain what chloasma is? Is this different than melasma? Melasma, by definition, is the “mask of pregnancy”.
Answer:
Chloasma is the same thing in a non-pregnant woman. In reality the conditions are the same. In both situations, there is an increase in facial pigmentation, hormonally related, that is exacerbated by sun exposure. Although there is no cure for this condition, treatments can be very helpful.
