Can lasers treat skin cancer?
Answered by admin
Question:
Are lasers ever used to treat skin cancer?
Answer:
A laser-like approach is used to treat some pre-skin cancers known as actinic keratosis. With this approach a topical medication – levulinic acid – is applied to the skin prior to activation with a laser or light source. This technique known as photodynamic therapy (PDT) is highly effective at removing pre-skin cancers without surgery.
