What Are Sciton Halo Laser Treatments?

Halo restores the luminous glow of young skin. It is a hybrid fractional laser created by Sciton that provides high-quality laser skin resurfacing to counteract the effects of time. It is available to patients who wish to correct blemishes such as wrinkles, spots, and more. Previous lasers could not provide this level of effectiveness for removing damage, because the treatment was either to deep or too shallow.

How Do Sciton Halo Laser Treatments Work?

The Halo is a hybrid fractional laser, which means it can deliver both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths as needed. The treatment:

  • Is customizable to precisely target skin damage
  • Improves the appearance of tone, texture and wrinkles
  • Reduces pore size while increasing reflectivity and glow
  • Provides flexibility in treatment levels and downtime

How Soon Will I See Results?

Following the actual treatment, your skin will go through a healing process where the skin will peel before results can be seen. This process can take around one to two weeks, depending on the area of the body being treated. Once the peeling is complete, the smoother, silkier skin underneath will be visible. You will need to continue to cleanse and exfoliate your skin in order to help nurture the rejuvenated skin without suffering through a downtime period.

How Long Will It Take to Heal?

Thanks to the advanced technology, little to no downtime is required following treatment. Unlike ablative lasers that require one to two weeks of recovery time, this procedure delivers ablative laser strength with non-ablative gentleness.

Is the Procedure Painful?

Prior to undergoing treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the skin and then left to take effect. This will help to lessen any pain that may be felt with the treatment. Most patients describe the treatment as a feeling of heat with occasional prickling sensations, but are generally comfortable. Following treatment, a restorative skin cream is applied to keep the skin moist and alleviate discomfort.

How many treatments do you need?

You can choose how many treatments you want! Discuss with your clinician your needs and you can choose to have one or two more aggressive treatments or have multiple treatments that are less aggressive and achieve a similar goal over a longer period of time.

How soon after my treatment can I return to normal activities?

For the first 24 hours you should keep your skin protected according to our provided instructions, but after that you should be able to go about your normal activities. Your skin will begin to peel after the first 24 hours, but you will be able to put on makeup. For a facial treatment, you will see very little change on the first day. After two to three days you will develop a light bronzing appearance. By day three or four your skin will peel, revealing your new skin beneath.

What is the Cost of Sciton Halo Laser Treatments?

The cost of Sciton Halo laser skin rejuvenation will vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary for each patient. At Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York and New Jersey, we accept CareCredit® and Alphaeon™ Credit, as two convenient financing options to help our treatments stay affordable for all our patients.
