Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of NY and NJ is proud to feature the most cutting-edge technology behind natural rejuvenation, utilizing the regenerative cells and fat issue of your own body.
What does ALMI stand for?
ALMI stands for Autologous Lipocyte Micronized Injection. This next generation, specialized technique combines your own stem-cell-rich fat tissue with PRP (platelet rich plasma) through a special process to re-volumize and rejuvenate the face, hands, chest, and revitalize hair.
Why do we use ALMI?
The aging process begins in our late 20s, which leads to collagen breakdown, bone loss, and fat loss in the face, chest and hands, and results in skin laxity and looking older than you feel. Enter ALMI.
ALMI is a completely non-surgical procedure that naturally restores youthfulness by replenishing lost volume in the face and hands and smoothing of lines and wrinkles. Unlike traditional injectable fillers that do not offer the capability of regeneration and repair of skin tissue, ALMI™ uses your body’s own growth factor rich tissue and cells to fill and renew the skin. In some patients, ALMI can also be used to restore hair density and volume while stimulating hair growth with purified ALMI nanofat stem cell technology.
What are the benefits of ALMI™?
There are several benefits to the ALMI™ procedure. Some of the most common benefits include:
- Natural treatment that uses your own tissues and growth factors
- Longer-lasting than most other fillers and volumizers
- Non-surgical with little to no downtime needed
- Helps rejuvenate skin by reversing and reducing the signs of aging
- Restores a youthful glow, addresses wrinkles, and sagging skin.
How Does It Work?
The entire rejuvenating process is done right in the office, and generally takes 1-2 hours, or less. A small amount of fat is comfortably collected from an area of the body (typically the abdomen, flanks, or thighs) under local anesthesia. The fat is then specially processed to be purified and optimized to contain the optimized amount of stems cells for comprehensive rejuvenation, which goes beyond other facial rejuvenation techniques.
PRP (platelet rich plasma) may be combined for the ultimate infusion of natural growth factors to restore lost collagen and stimulate continued collagen growth.
Once the procedure is completed, the patient is able to leave the office and resume normal daily activities.
How long does it last?
While most synthetic fillers last around 6 months to 1.5 years, products that are collagen stimulating, like fat transfers, have a much longer lifespan. Data has shown results lasting beyond 2 years, and results often improve over time.
What are the results of ALMI™?
You can see the initial results of ALMI™ immediately following your treatment. However, results will continue to grow and improve over time as your body is triggered to naturally produce new collagen and elastin. This results in longer-lasting results as compared to other fillers and volumizers.
Is ALMI an invasive procedure?
ALMI is a minimally-invasive, in-office, outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia with little to no downtime. ALMI will use your own specially purified fat tissue and growth factor rich cells, which is reinjected back into areas of the face, hands, and chest to restore lost volume and improve the appearance of aged and sun-damaged skin. Achieve youthful results with rejuvenating effects that can last 2-5 years or beyond, and that continue to improve over time.
Who is a perfect candidate for ALMI?
ALMI is perfect for patients who are looking for a more natural alternative or a complimentary addition to dermal fillers and injectables to combat the aging process. ALMI is also a fully comprehensive hair restoration procedure-combining growth factor rich PRP (platelet rich plasma) from your blood with your purified fat cells to give patients the most technologically advanced regenerative procedure available.
Can ALMI be combined with any other treatments?
ALMI can be safely combined with non-ablative or ablative laser procedures, neuromodulators (such as Botox), or other skin tightening devices for the face and neck. In fact, to better address the stubborn smoker’s lines or other deep wrinkles, ALMI works synergistically with laser resurfacing to target deep lines specifically.
