What is Juvederm®?
Juvederm® is an FDA-approved injectable filler used to treat facial lines and other skin imperfections. This treatment can improve the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, deep folds and dark circles beneath the eyes. It may be used to enhance the lips or contour facial features like the chin and cheeks. Juvederm®, like Restylane®, is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance, and it comes in the form of a crystal-clear gel.
What can I expect during a consultation for Juvederm ® treatment?
During your consultation for Juvederm® treatment, Dr. Goldberg, and his staff, will perform a facial exam and discuss your expectations. This will allow him to determine if Juvederm® is the best treatment to achieve your desired results or if another procedure may be better suited for you.
What is the difference between Restylane® and Juvederm ®?
Juvederm® contains a higher concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and is more concentrated than Restylane®. Whether that translates into a major difference in duration of effect remains to be seen. Because of its cross linking, Juvederm® is smoother and less viscous and easier to inject. Some patients report that there are fewer bumps and less pain with Juvederm® and that the results last around 8 months, as compared to 6 for Restylane®.
