Can you explain what GentleWaves is? Is this a milder form of laser resurfacing?

Answer:

Gentle Waves is a brand name for one of several useful LED technologies. LEDs do play a role in improving skin quality. They are often used in conjunction with laser resurfacing. Allumera is a topical product applied to the skin prior to treatment with a light source. The technique is known as Cosmetic Photodynamic Therapy. It is a simple procedure used to treat acne, dilated pores and as a great anti-aging skin approach.

Answer:

In general, injection sclerotherapy is the more appropriate technique for typical blue spider veins. Smaller red leg veins may respond better to laser treatment.

Question:

I've tried accutane but it's had no effect on my acne. What other options do I have?

Answer:

Accutane is highly effective in treating acne, but no method can give a 100% cure rate. We treat acne with a variety of topical medications and antibiotics.  For those who do not wish to take oral medications, laser treatments can be highly effective in treating acne.

Question:

I have small but noticeable red vein on my cheek below my eye. I think this is what's called a broken capillary. I would love to have it removed but I'm a little concerned because of how close it is to my eye. Is it safe to treat this area and what sort of treatment would be used?

Answer:

We have been treating these for over 20 years with a laser that is safe enough to use on newborn infants. It is called the pulsed dye laser. Often only 1- treatments are required to see great results. And yes, we can easily and safely treat not only below your eye- but even on the eyelid itself.

Question:

How is the pulse dye laser different from the fractional laser? Is one better than the other for improving spider veins on the face?

Answer:

The pulsed dye and KTP lasers are highly effective for treating facial spider veins. Fractional lasers, great for wrinkles, aging skin, and acne cars do very little for facial spider veins.
