Question:

I am an artist and in the process of designing a tattoo for my back. This will cover my entire back and extend out onto my shoulders and upper arms. I want to get laser hair removal before the tattoo. How much time should I wait after the laser hair removal to start the tattoo? Will the maintenance treatments to keep the hair off affect my tattoo?

Answer:

Wait at least 2 weeks after a laser hair removal treatment before getting tattooed in that same area. However, you need to now that once you get the tattoo, you cannot treat that area –ever- with laser hair removal. Doing so wil scar. So you have to choose. Do you want the tattoo or do you want less hair in the area!

Question:

I am female, 31 years old, with very dark body hair. The only part that matters to me is the underside of my chin. There the hairs are often ingrown. I have to shave there and I find waxing extremely painful. Can laser hair removal completely eliminate the ingrown hairs?

Answer:

The most incredible thing about treating ingrown hairs with laser hair removal is that some results often occur after only 1 session. If you want to see some incredible results following laser hair removal, look at the book I wrote, entitled Laser Hair Removal

Question:

About how much does laser hair removal cost?

Answer:

The cost will depend on the size of area treated. Fees can start as low as $200/session making laser hair removal not only more effective than electrolysis, but also – in the long run – more cost effective.

Question:

I often get folliculitis in my bikini region. I would like laser hair removal in that area but wonder if the treatments will give me folliculitis.

Answer:

Laser hair removal will actually lessen the shaver bumps that are associated with bikini folliculitis. This is in contrast to shaving and waxing which may increase so called "shaver bumps".

Question:

With laser hair removal, do you treat one hair follicle at a time like with electrolysis? How long would it take to remove fine hair from my upper lip?

Answer:

Laser hair removal is totally unlike electrolysis. Instead of only 1 hair at a time being treated, hundreds of hairs can be treated with laser zap. There was a study that compared laser hair removal to electrolysis. Although both worked, laser hair removal was more successful and hurts less.
