Question:

Every time I use the shower at my gym I seem to get athlete’s foot. Is it possible to shower at the gym and not get it? What precautions should I be taking?

Answer:

Sometimes you may be getting true athlete’s foot. Other times this is simply a flaring of eczema that may look to you like a flaring of athlete’s feet. Only your dermatologist will be able to distinguish the 2. To lessen the likelihood of either of these conditions you should wear flip-flops when showering in the gym and be certain that your feet are totally dry before putting shoes and socks back on.
