Question: How do the results of a facial peel compare to laser skin resurfacing?Answer: In general most peels performed today are done by estheticians. These are usually some kind of glycolic acid peel. They are done to improve skin brightness and can also unclog blackheads. The very aggressive peels that were done years ago by physicians for the treatment of wrinkles and acne scars have mostly been replaced by laser or laser-like procedures such as Fraxel, Profractional or e-Matrix. Laser procedures, in contrast to aggressive peels deliver more consistently good results and have a lower complication rate when performed correctly.
